How Family Members Can Ruin Your Perfectly Good Photo

I made another trip to the community garden to get photos. This is one of my favorites except for on annoying costly detail. Look closely. Yep, that's my Mom and brother in the background. For another example just look at my last post. Frustrating. So here's the lesson: Make sure other people who are not supposed to be in your perfectly good picture don't find their way in. It can totally ruin your masterpiece.

Grasshopper

This photo was taken at a community garden. It took many tries to get. I lowered my camera in to the garden until my camera and the grasshopper were face to face. Then the grasshopper turned away. When I finally got a picture where the grasshopper was looking at the camera someone was in the background. On top of that I couldn't list it on Etsy because the background was too busy. From the little pictures on Etsy you wouldn't be able to tell what it was. I am going to list a different grasshopper one on Etsy.

Hawk

This hawk lives at a community garden in Warren, New Jersey. I got this great close up the first time I went. This wouldn't have been the only good photo I got except someone's dog chased it into the woods just when I was going to get a photo of it silhouetted looking into the sunset.

So I went again. This time the hawk looked different and scary. I thought that maybe the hawk had gotten sick. I took one photo of it then ran. Its eyes looked yellow. All of its feathers looked black. It was scary looking.

So I left. Later in the week I found out that someone had gotten a good photo of the second bird I saw and identified it as a Peregrine Falcon. Of course the one picture I had of that bird I had deleted after I took one look at it. Never again am I going to get scared of a bird. Instead I will get closer. Then realize, that's not a sick bird. That's a whole different species of birds.
